Fantastic story with an interesting take on magic. Well worth the credit in my opinion can’t wait for the next book.

I was warned by the reviews but the MC is way too sarcastic and “witty”. The story is really good, I enjoy the back story and intrigue as well as the magical system. I’ve heard Jessica Threat before and she’s great (sometimes has audio level issues in other books she’s done, not this one) but this is the first I’ve heard of the male narrator, both do a fantastic job!
I’m conflicted over continuing though, the MC really is a smart arse and I’m not sure I can stand it again for another book. If the author dialled it down 25% I could deal.

The narrator's really do a fantastic job of bringing this story to life. I did read it and enjoyed it but to listen to it they made it really memorable

Flawed characters really grow on you, and what you may have found annoying becomes something that makes you crack a real life smirk. Interesting magic system and a very interesting setting.

I've listened to both books several times, waiting for the next. highly recommend. lots of laughs to break up the story and plenty of story movement. the performances were excellent as well. just get it, you won't regret it!
