About this listen

Ard is hunkering down in the mountains for the winter as the war cools with the snow.

That means it’s time to practice his magic and stay out of trouble. Well… Ard might not be entirely proficient at the last one. At the very least, he’s staying away from the city and his penchant for annoying other people.

Except that doesn’t work out so well when he’s forced to attend a ball held by the Brighthavens, though they’ll certainly regret forcing Ard’s attendance.

No matter how it goes down, you’re sure that Ard is going to have as much fun with it as he can.

Really great characters, fun and all individual. I've enjoyed the character progression between Ard and the anchors and the interplay between them all. This series is just so much fun and I'm craving more. Please tell me the next is just around the corner!

Chapter 26 - 5:25 Funny Audio pick up,

Characters are really brought to life through the Audio of these two, in the reference above it almost sounds like they’re trying to do the positions in real life. Thank you to the editor who may or may not of done that on purpose,

Brilliant Voice acting

Incredibly good listen, the story picks up so well and the characters are fleshed out even more. it's sweet, funny, charming and tense at all the right moments. The voice actors are perfect and honestly of the series so far they've somehow gotten even better. There was admittedly a mistake and chapter 26 when they(VA) interrupt each other but go straight back to work that somehow added to the professional and charm of them both.
So excited for the next one even though nothing has been previewed yet. Absolutely worth picking up the series, the characters are some of my favourite but maybe my humour is just as goofy.

Outstanding Listen & Story

The amount of politics and nobility crap he's had to deal with and any form of growth he could potentially have is utterly ruined by the authors over use of jokes and sarcasm in any and every situation. Abandonment issues? fair enough but when you repeat the same crap for 3 books it gets beyond predictable and pathetic. It's bad enough the author has to give us the PoV of the villain so he can explain there perspective and insight like we couldn't of guessed it ourself, it's not very complex or even new just recycled crap from every fantasy author nowadays.

Lack of any growth outside of magic power
