Publisher's Summary
Fate can be written in a tea bag too.
Mark Johnson is hitting his forties and is stuck in a rut.
He's had the same boring office job for ten years, with no motivation or inclination to change it. The same crumbling house for ten years, with no cash or know-how to fix it. And the same Facebook status for five years—it's complicated. It isn't. He's single. He just doesn't want to correct it. That would be admitting defeat.
The day a tea bag splats onto his face whilst he's emptying the dregs of his morning cuppa at Macy's Tea Shoppe is the one that makes him question each of his current life choices...the tea bag and that the shop is currently being run by one rather friendly, rather hunky, but rather young Australian named Bradley Summers.
Tea has never tasted so good.

A sweet and fun romcom!
Mark Johnson is a teacup half-empty sort of guy. In his own words, he’s “a bumbling fool consumed by misfortune”. Approaching 40, he is bored with his job and town, and feels he has nothing to offer a partner or a lover, so avoids them. His life starts to change when he meets Bradley Summers, a young Aussie acting as temporary barista at his local tea shop. While the tea is worse, the company is great. Brad is sunny, sexy, and a parttime stripper. Despite the differences in age and outlook, they are good for each other, but can Mark overcome his inertia, his low self-esteem, and his fear of taking a chance?
This sits firmly in romcom territory. Mark is nearly always in a physically or socially awkward position - it’s no wonder Brad finds him so entertaining! There are some classic romcom tropes such as grumpy/sunshine and the chase to the airport but they all have that twist CF White is so good at adding and, as usual, her major and minor characters are the big draw cards. Audio narrator Piers Ryman outperforms himself with a very credible Aussie accent for Brad and a very careful voice for Mark as well as a great delivery. Enjoyably light and fun!
