These books are so easy to listen to.

Loved it, listened so quickly, and now can't wait for the next book! The perfect narrator for this series.

Cant wait for another adventure!

I love this author. At times very serious, at times humourous. I have listened to every book in this series...will there be another Louise? I do hope so. I wouldnt want to hear anyone but Jonathon Keeble reading it! My favourite character...has to be Philips!

I absolutely love the DCI Ryan series, this one as good, if not my best of them all. There is always a twist in the tale. Cannot wait for the next one. The narration was excellent as always.

Loved it! Another long wait for book 11.. *Sigh*

Another wonderful story with DCI Ryan, his wife Anna and their friends Frank Phillips and Denise MacKenzie-Phillips, who are also police officers.

This story was about 3 murders, one committed more than 20 years ago, and 2 others to cover up that first murder. And I gotta tell ya’ I was really, really, surprised at who the killer was. I would NEVER expected that person as the one. And wow, what a terrible deal for Josh and Daisy.

Oddly enough, I don’t like stories with the MC being married. No idea why I just don’t, usually. BUT I just love the love between Ryan and Anna. There’s no sign of sex in these books but just their words and there few kisses are so sweet, and they seem so real.

As to the narration: Jonathan Keeble is totally awesome.

Brilliant..

Ryan and the team are back on home soil, and they're soon thrust into an investigation when a body is recovered from the sea. Someone who'd be searching for a lost viking longship just off the coast. Things turn from bad to worse when the killer takes action to cover their tracks. In typical Ryan fashion, he and the team stop at nothing to work out what has taken place.
Some great light entertainment with the lovable DS Frank Philips at Ryans side.
Longstone is another in the wonderful DCI Ryan Series. Beautifully narrated by Jonathan Keeble once again.
Highly recommended.

Best yet!

At last a story that does not hark back overmuch - except for excellent choice of location - to previous well worn story-lines. A fresh departure after the admittedly satisfying 'Hermitage' Book 9 released on Audible the same day. Hope the trend continues and that Jonathan Keeble continues to narrate instead of over egging with an ensemble cast.

Another great

I love this series. The characters are well rounded and so real. The plots are sufficiently intriguing and complex to hold you from start to finish - and there’s always a final surprise! LJ Ross is a talented author and her stories are wonderfully complemented by the skilful narration of Jonathan Keeble. I truly hope for more!

An absolutely ingenious book

L J Ross is one of my favourite authors, and getting two books together was an absolute treat to get two books together. I really feel like I know Ryan and the other major characters. Very well written and genius plots. Highly recommended.

best so far

this time there was a bit of history, a bit of nature, less romance (has been getting a bit overblow recently), and thank goodness, less mythological ritualism. still a few too many clichés BUT really good story with characters we already know and love, and new ones who we sympathise with and get to like or dislike.
quite nice to have a couple of suspects in mind and be right with one! all performed brilliantly by narrator- using tension at all the right points.
now ready for the next one please.

Brilliant book and great narrator

I have been binge litsening to the DCI Ryan series over the past few weeks, they just get better and better.

A shipwreck diver is found dead and DCI Ryan is called in to solve the murder, but when another body is discovered, it makes the case more complicated.

I love the way L J Ross writes, the whole story flows beautifully and I never guess who is responsible for the crimes!

The narrator once again is excellent.

Great book and a well deserved 5 stars again.

Good Story

The best Ryan book so far. The description of the seas in this part of Northumbria was impressive and brought the whole story to life. Much better than some of the other books. A jolly good read.

Excellent narration, loved it!

I have read the first few DCI Ryan novels but missed a couple before this one - I found it to be a very entertaining, easy to listen to, not too complicated stand alone story which was great to get back into the groove.
As in the whole series the scenery was atmospheric and very much part of the story but the excellent narration by Jonathan Keeble elevated the whole experience to another level for me. Loved his voice and pace, and the local flavour he gave with his accents. Will get these on audio from now on - brilliant!

Another cracking listen by this great author

As a huge fan of the DCI Ryan series, I was thrilled to get the offer of this audio book in exchange for an honest review.

This is another great story by the very talented L J Ross. Again she had me on the edge of my seat with another exciting instalment in this much loved series.

Back in the Northeast of England following his last case which took Ryan and his wife Anna to Italy, the team are back on home ground for another spate of crime solving. Set in the town of Seahouses, Ryan and the team have to solve the murder of a shipwrecked diver who has been washed up on the rocks. Of course more murder, secrets and lies follow for Ryan’s intrepid team of detectives to solve.

I honestly can’t praise these books highly enough. Each of the stories are different but feature a wonderful cast of characters that you can’t help get to know and love. There is of course the very capable, intelligent and charismatic Ryan, the funny, loyal and warm hearted Frank Phillips and the strong lion hearted DI Denise MacKenzie. Ryan’s wife Anna of course also has very useful contributions to make to the stories. Not only do I enjoy the crime story but I enjoy catching up on all the characters’ lives to see how they are developing.

Jonathan Keeble of course is wonderful in the narration of this book and is now for me the voices of the DCI Ryan mysteries. I simply couldn’t imagine anyone else reading them. He is excellent.

I also thoroughly enjoy Ms Ross’s vivid description of the locations in which the books are set as this really brings the books to life for me.

I highly recommend the whole series and they just keep getting better and better. Well done Ms Ross and please keep them coming. Another 5-star rating from me and I can’t wait for book 11.
