I love this series & have listened more than once to the previous ones.
This one though, was my favourite!
There was a change in LJ Ross’ style of writing compared to the previous ones. The added risky humour was a great surprise & on more than one occasion I laughed out loud (imagine this…I’m wearing headphones while listening, baking bread & other goodies, husband watching tv in the next room & I snort a laugh so loud & dissolve into giggles, said husband thinks I’ve lost my mind because he knows I’m reading a crime novel😅😆)

I love and have devoured everything LJ Ross writes. They're a real escape with gripping storylines. This one the story is sound ...except for a few bits of banter that felt out of alignment. However, the narration definitely isn't my cup of tea. I feel like it's performed like a comedy or a carry on movie with exaggerated loud booming voices and even the main character sounds comic and goofy not the aloof wise detective I've come to enjoy. The female voices are even worse. I can't continue listening. I think I'll try the kindle version and avoid the audio. I don't like to leave a negative review but this has been a disappointment because I know the quality of this author.

I'd been hanging out for this book for ages as Ive loved all of them. But this was so boring! I'll about personal lovey dovey garbage. no proper ending - so rushed. waste of credit
