Story
Highly sensitive people can not only detect, but actually feel the emotions of people around them, and this often leaves them helplessly vulnerable to harsh, unwanted emotional experiences and even danger if they don’t know how to defend against it. This unchecked exposure can result in disorienting mood swings or simply having a strong desire to spend time alone. But escaping the crowd is not always the real solution to dodging these emotions or, even worse, the empath’s worst enemy: the narcissist.

Although clinical research has been conducted on narcissism as a disorder, less is known about its effects on victims who are in toxic relationships with partners with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Individuals with this disorder engage in chronic devaluation and manipulation of their partners, a psychological and emotional phenomenon known as "narcissistic abuse". Unfortunately, the full extent of what narcissistic abuse entails is not taught in any psychology class or diagnostic manual.

Publisher's Summary
You’re in a relationship. But sometimes, you feel alone. Sometimes, you worry your partner is only “putting up” with you. These are just two of the common warning signs that you are in a relationship with a narcissist, and they should never be ignored.
You may also find your partner to be very controlling, down to what you wear or eat. You may feel like you’re walking on eggshells around them, not comfortable or at ease (this is a big one). If this is the case, it’s possible that you may be suffering from narcissistic abuse syndrome.
Congratulations! You have taken the first step toward recovery: seeking the truth.
Informing and arming yourself with knowledge is all too critical for those suffering under a narcissist because, as you may have observed, the narcissist will often assert their reality onto you. This can cloud your judgment and make it easy to forget what is normal and healthy behavior.
Take a deep breath. If you feel guilty or at fault, it’s only the narcissist’s voice talking in your head. The sole purpose of this book is to unravel that web that the narcissist has spun so that you can have a clear vision of the condition and take the steps to heal from any trauma that has occurred and prevent it from happening all over again.
In this audiobook, you'll discover:
- The six warning signs of narcissistic abuse syndrome you need to know
- An easy trick to spot a narcissist quickly and effortlessly
- Indefensible weapons to disarm the covert narcissist
- The number one most powerful tool for healing from narcissistic abuse
- Recovery methods for the narcissists in your family, including narcissistic mothers
- And much more...
Don’t let a narcissist convince you that nothing is wrong. Even if you feel like there is no hope, or you’ve tried and failed in the past, you can begin your journey to recovery and to the person that will treat you the way you want, right now.

Great Self Care Book
This was a really great book that helps a person look within. The author Kara Lawrence helps you find what you really need to help deal with some issues that have been bothering you for a long time. The narration by Ms. Boiesan was very well done and the audio production was crisp and clear throughout the entire book. I recommend this book for anyone looking for a book to help find some clarity in their lives.

The whole picture
I love that this book really is A-Z. It takes you from the very beginning (identifying a narcissist) all the way past that relationship, through recovery, and into a healthier state. There are lots of resources that just basically get you through a relationship and leave you right where you were when you entered it. I like that this one is really about specific solutions. It includes even specific things to say to your narcissist in certain situations, to disarm their manipulation. I also loved the chapter on mothers. Most books like this focus on only romantic relationships but honestly many of our patterns and attractions are formed in childhood, in our families, so I think re-framing this is invaluable.
