The idea for Sacred Woman, and Kara Lawrence's subsequent series of books, was born after author Kara Lawrence went through a similar struggle with an emptiness in her life. She regularly grappled with feelings of bleakness, anger towards others, and unnecessary stress. These emotions were reinforced by other problems in her life, like unhealthy relationships, severe body image issues, and an unfulfilling career. For years, Kara felt that there was nothing to do but learn to tolerate these problems, and hope they get better. She felt she had confidence in the force of womanhood, but it took some intervention to get in touch with her own. In the midst of her low period, she regained a long-time interest in spiritualism and holistic healing. This had always been something she felt a connection with, but had pushed it aside to live a less “eclectic” life. After realizing that something was missing from her life, she sought out an active meditation group to realign her spirit again. This allowed her to not only reconnect with her spiritual interests, but also to heal the feminine soul that had been buried inside of her. Finding that connection to goddesshood filled the void in her life that kept her from addressing her problems, and she felt stable for the first time in a long while. Kara comes to you after experiencing her own healing journey, and learning to re-harness her personal goddess. She firmly believes that by teaching other women to holistically love their mind, body, and spirit, they can find their own path to revitalization. Being whole and healthy comes with work, so Kara’s exercises are designed to make that work a little easier to fit into everyday life.
