Publisher's Summary

Detective Joseph Easter's daughter discovers a cottage hidden in some trees on a large fenland farm. Someone has been living there.

The farm owner's wife has been receiving sinister pagan artifacts, including a witch's knife. Are they some sort of warning or message?

Joseph and his daughter search the cottage and find an old satchel. Inside are photos of a beautiful girl, Jennifer Cowley. She went missing 15 years ago. She'd been stalked by a young man, who was convicted of her murder, even though her body was never found.

When DI Nikki Galena examines the cottage, she finds something far worse.

And in the satchel is a more recent photo of a girl who looks just like Jennifer.

The man who killed Jennifer is recently out of prison. Has he struck again?

At the same time, DC Cat Cullen and Dave Harris are trying to get evidence against a man who preys on widowed older women. Vernon Deacon is seemingly a pillar of society, with very influential friends. But his victims aren't believed, so their job is not easy.

Get rid of Henrietta Meire

I actually really enjoy these books but cannot bear the narrators voice. It’s awful. And I can’t tell the difference between the male and female characters. Please find a better reader.

Very entertaining

I love the listening to the 'Fens' books, what spoils is for me is the monotonous voice of the narrator. I nearly gave up but I was enjoying the story. Please get a new narrator.

Storyline

I am annoying this authors writing. Love the characters and different storylines.
Good descriptive writing too. Gives an image of how these people should look and the Fens.
On the the next book.

Another gripping page turner, well worth the read. I didn't see where some of the turns cam from.

My Review of Hidden on the Fens

I have just finished absolutely binge reading book 11 and oh my lordy, what a ride that was. From start to finish, I couldn't pick any of the twists and turns. This has to be one of my favourites. I can't believe i have read 11 books based on Nikki & Joseph which would be roughly 80 hours of listening in a matter of weeks and each time i finish a book I immediately start the next. They just get better and better. I listen at any chance i get and have never been so content folding laundry or doing dishes, the books make time fly by, I have also stopped all consumption of any Netflix the twists and turns of this book were too good to do anything else with my time. I must say that Nikki's voice appeared to be a lot less harsh this time around, her vowels more rounded and her accent more feminine. It might be due to the constant reviews from others saying they couldn't stand it, but i definitely missed it. What an amazing story, performed beautifully and written to keep the listener on the edge of their seat! 10/10
