Publisher's Summary

From two-million-selling author Joy Ellis comes one of the most eagerly awaited mysteries this year.

One moonlit night, the bodies of two young people are discovered lying entwined on a blanket in the woods. The young man is clutching a red rose. It appears to be a lovers' suicide pact....

Until Detective Nikki Galena and DS Joseph Easter look more closely. Romeo and Juliet, as they decide to call them, were murdered somewhere else and brought to the woods. But why?

Then another young couple are found dead, again beautifully posed as lovers. And Nikki knows they have a twisted serial killer on their hands. Who are the next victims?

Everyone has secrets. But some people will kill to keep them.

Screechy & Melodramatic Narration

I’m a fan of Joy Ellis’s Jackman / Evans stories & in particular the amazing voice acting associated with the series by Richard Armitage. I knew the narrator was never going to reach those heights but was so disappointed in the voice “performances” of this narrator. Set in the fens I expected at least that the accents would be correct. Only with the main character of Nicki Galena was there any attempt to do a regional accent & that came & went. I found the narration screechy & melodramatic. The story was good but overall disappointing.

Addictive series

I love all Joy Ellis books (except when characters die) I have listened to them repeatedly and am probably too invested in the characters and their relationships 😬

Narration

I have listen all of Joy Ellis's books it just occurred to me that she has the worst narrators I have ever heard. She seemed particularly bad in this book . Every single person sounded the same and the guy in her other books is as bad. She lost me untill she gets done new ones and reading reviews Im not the only one who thinks this.

Joy Ellis

I love all the stories On The Fens. Nikki Galina a d Joseph Easter are such a great duo. These stories are masterful. You are roped in wondering who's the good or bad person. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Voice

Didn’t like the narrators voice or way she made almost every sentence a drama and lack of variance for different people. Especially for Rory who has a lovely accent in the other books

Another beaut!!!

I highly recommend Joy Ellis, her writing is interesting and enjoyable. The characters are depicted well and the narrator brings the story to life.

Looking forward to the next Ellis adventure.

Brilliant...as usual!

I thoroughly enjoyed this one, can't get enough of the Nikki and Joseph series...I'm really hoping this isn't the last one! My problem now is to have to wait for the No. 13 to be written. I love the progression of the main characters, and am feeling optimistic that there WILL be at least one more. Joy Ellis's series of Marie and Jackman came to a good conclusion so yes, fingers crossed this one still has a ways to go 😃 thank you Joy Ellis for such interesting and riveting storylines 🥰

Fantastic and intriguing

This is by far one of the best stories I have listened too. Fantastically narrated and of course written. I can’t wait to read the next book
