Publisher's Summary

Serial killers think if it all goes south and they finally get caught, that their swan song is a day in court, making the families relive the agony while they get off on that delicious pain, all over again.

Not happening. Not anymore. We’re not making celebrities out of monsters. We’re not giving them a stage to strut on.

Now they get an audience of two.

One to Handle the problem, one to Witness it.

I’m a Witness. I trained for six years to do my duty, to manage my contracted killer, and to watch justice be done.

I knew it would be hard, the first time, to watch the eye for an eye moment.

I expected to feel a lot of things - fear, disgust, guilt.

I didn’t expect to feel turned on.

And I didn’t expect my contracted killer to look quite so pretty with blood on his hands.

HANDLED is a dark gay romance with themes of justice, retribution, and unsuitable love. It is not for the faint of heart, and contains graphic scenes intended for an adult audience. Further trigger warnings inside.

dark and twisted

Super dark and twisted romance. I loved everything about this story! It was unique, I don’t think I have ever listened to anything like it before. Judge, jury, and executioner. Gray and Nathan are handler and witness. Gray is a “legal” killer, if he finds a serial killer guilty, then he kills them. It’s Nathan’s job to witness it. The narrative done by Liam DiCosimo and Gavin McAllister was fantastic! Highly recommend!

AMAZING!!!!!!!

WOW!!! AMAZING!!! ASTOUNDING!!! BLOODY BRILLIANT!!! What an amazing start to a series. I could not stop listening that's how amazing it was. I loved the characters and had some good laughs as well. It's also another way to learn about a new kink. I loved the storyline and how the characters grew together and came to care for each other. I can not wait to see what happens in the next book. It was also so original, the Witness and Handler program, brilliant. Liam DiCosimo and Gavin McAllister were the perfect choices for the characters, they truely brought them alive and the voices and attitudes, everything, was spot on, I can not imagine someone else narrating this series. Romilly King well done on another amazing book. I hope the rest of the series gets recorded as well, it was AMAZING!!!!!

Enjoyed It a Lot

This book was not what I expected, but I loved it. Dark and captivating story, unique and twisted in most amazing way. I liked both characters and thought that Nathan was a perfect witness for Gray. Narrators did a good job telling this great story from both POV. I am looking forward to other stories in Handled series.

Best dark romance with great audio

I usually don't like audiobooks with two different narrator, but it seems when it comes Romilly King, my heart and brain goes off and like whatever is in front of me. In this case and audio with 2 narrator.

Handled is one of my favorite book ever and I was so excited about the audio! Both narrator did a great job, Gray and Nathan's voice were just perfect. But if I can have a favorite, sorry, but Liam's voice for Gray and Nathan was so much better and enjoyable then Gavin's. I love Gavin's narrations, but this time Liam's part was better for me.

I enjoyed listening to this story and I definitely will re-listen to it a few times.

Highly recommend both the ebook and the audio. One of the best dark romance and the most adorable(LOL) psychopath ever.♥

Loved the book...Loved the audible

OM freaking G...this was FANTABOLOUS!! I already loved the book and was super excited that the audible was done. The guys that narrated were on point and brought this to life in all ways possible. I was given an audio code to give an honest review and let me tell you...this was enjoyed every second and I hated for it to end but I know the other two books are hopefully coming soon to audible...cant wait!!!

Death Penalty Outsourced

Who doesn't love a bit of violence with their fun time? I love a little bit of darkness in my stories. It's like seasoning to add flavor. By this point I have read many books by Romilly King and they do not disappoint. That being said I can't issue a blanket recommendation to everyone because it will depend on the individual so pay attention to trigger warnings. If the blurb and warning are still your cup of tea then definitely give Handled a try (and Cleansed and Polished to complete the trilogy). I listened to the audiobook in one sitting and it kept me intrigued and engaged from beginning to end. The two narrators imbued each character with personality which added to the whole experience of the book. Gray's feral growl was on-point and a sizzling delight telling his story. Bottom-line read this book and, if you can, give it a listen, you won't regret it. *** I purchased this book myself but the audio is an ARC I received ***

An absorbing dark m/m romance!

I loved the premise of this! The US Govt has a controversial program employing psychopaths (handlers) to exterminate serial killers in front of a trained witness. Gray is a handler with a reputation for being difficult to work with and rookie witness Nathan is both scared and drawn to him. In some ways this was like a Dexter police procedural with Gray investigating, convicting and executing. Despite the trigger warnings, I didn’t find the kill / sex scenes too squeamish and I would have loved more complex investigations with more heightened suspense. It’s debatable whether you could call Gray and Nathan’s growing closeness a romance given the inability of psychopaths to experience real emotion but I felt Romilly King got the balance right. The audio narrators, Gavin McAllister (as Gray) and Liam DiCosimo (as Nathan) did a good job, although Liam’s youthful, dude voice was a little more upbeat than I expected for the book’s tone.

Great listen

Ooh, I loved this! Two new-to-me narrators, who to start with I wasn’t quite sure about but as the story progressed they became Gray and Nathan brilliantly (and did each other’s character justice too). The story was engaging and different, and this first instalment was enough of a book in its own right as well as setting up the next one. It starts off very dark, not sure it maintains that the whole way through but the way the romance is weaved in worked really well - with a surprisingly touching development of the relationship and what’s to come.
