Story
Twelve hundred British soldiers isolated on the small island of Kheros off the Turkish coast, waiting to die. Twelve hundred lives in jeopardy, lives that could be saved if only the guns could be silenced. The guns of Navarone, vigilant, savage and catastrophically accurate. Navarone itself, grim bastion of narrow straits manned by a mixed garrison of Germans and Italians, an apparently impregnable iron fortress.

Story
On the planet Tython, the ancient Je’daii order was founded. And at the feet of its wise Masters, Lanoree Brock learned the mysteries and methods of the Force - and found her calling as one of its most powerful disciples. But as strongly as the Force flowed within Lanoree and her parents, it remained absent in her brother, who grew to despise and shun the Je’daii, and whose training in its ancient ways ended in tragedy. Now, from her solitary life as a Ranger keeping order across the galaxy, Lanoree has been summoned by the Je’daii Council on a matter of utmost urgency.

Publisher's Summary
A game of canasta turns out crooked and a golden girl ends up dead. It seems that Auric Goldfinger is a bad loser when it comes to cards. He’s also the world’s most ruthless and successful gold smuggler. As James Bond follows his trail, he discovers that Goldfinger’s real game is the heist of fifteen billion dollars of US government bullion. The final hand is played at Fort Knox, in a spectacular display of deception and intrigue.
Includes an exclusive bonus interview with Hugh Bonneville.
Ian Fleming was born in London in 1908. He was educated at Eton and worked as a journalist in Moscow and a banker and stockbroker in London before becoming personal assistant to the Director of Naval Intelligence during the Second World War. He wrote his first Bond novel, Casino Royale, in 1952 at Goldeneye, his home in Jamaica. Since then James Bond has gone on to become a global phenomenon.
Hugh Bonneville is perhaps best known for his role as Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham in the hit series Downton Abbey. Other TV credits include W1A, Twenty Twelve, Lost in Austen, Bonekickers, The Silence and Rev. On the big screen he’s been seen in Monuments Men, Iris, Notting Hill, and the James Bond movie, Tomorrow Never Dies.

it was good though not as good as the others
This was an interesting story with turns in the plot and pacing. This story became a bit formulaic though and I got a bit bored after the usual capture scenario.

Bonneville is exceptional!
I enjoyed this book more than any I've listened to in ages.
Not because of Flemings sexist, homophobic, lesbophobic story (I do appreciate it was the 50's) but because of the fantastic story telling of Hugh Bonneville. He was brilliant! Loads of different character voices done well and repeated well. I honestly thought there were more actors that just him!

Bond vs Goldfinger
This is another exciting story of Commander James Bond and an iconic villian brought to life with exceptional detail.
You will enjoy this book from start to finish, my only complaint is Hugh Bonneville as the narrator, it flowed in parts and not in others. However it is still 4 stars.
