In einem einsam gelegenen Gasthaus feiern vier ehemalige Schulkameraden nach vielen Jahren ihr Wiedersehen. Als das Gasthaus dann auch noch durch einen Schneesturm von der Außenwelt abgeschnitten wird, eskalieren die Ereignisse. Im Schutz der Dunkelheit geht ein Mörder um und es bedarf Pater Browns ganzem Scharfsinn, um hinter seine Absichten zu kommen. Doch der Unheimliche lässt sich in seinem Vorhaben nicht beirren, denn sein Plan ist noch lange nicht erfüllt.
