Critic Reviews

"The dream team delivers big time...Clinton’s insider secrets and Patterson’s storytelling genius make this the political thriller of the decade." (Lee Child)

"I felt like I was right along with the characters for the shocking twists and turns you’ll never guess are coming. Patterson and Clinton have created a truly unique character in their ‘missing’ President. The President Is Missing puts the listener inside the White House and inside the mind of a President grappling with extraordinary circumstances." (Dennis Quaid)

"Yes, The President Is Missing is fiction - it’s a thriller - but James Patterson and I have come up with three of the most frightening days in the history of the presidency. And it could really happen...These days, the seemingly impossible can happen. And it happens so fast. I believe that readers will not soon forget President Jonathan Duncan and his story." (Bill Clinton)

MUST HAVE BEEN HARD TO WRITE BECAUSE ...

This book must have been hard to write because it sure is hard to listen to. I like James Patterson andI don't mind Bill Clinton but, this is the most boring and tedious book I have listened to,. I was going to buy itas an eBook as well but, I am glad I didn't. Overly long, very slow, and dull. Too much narrative justifications and reasons for each action, almost like out is trying to combine an education on what deliberations a President goes through with a novel. It does not work. Very disappointing purchase.

Good Book.

I was surprised by this book, mainly because It's not what i expected, when I first saw the title "The President is Missing" I thought the book would go in a completely different direction. Either way, it is still an excellent book, and would definitely recommend it.

I liked it!

I read some good reviews so decided to give this one a go. As an Aussie, I don't buy into the belief that America is the best country in the world but I do love stories of American politics. I thought the story was a good one but little slow to get started. Once the story got going, it was hard not to keep listening. I had an inkling of how it might end but that did not spoil my enjoyment of the story. I loved the President's speech at the end .... a world to aspire to. Nothing wrong with a bit of idealism. Having Bill Clinton read the whole speech again was maybe a bit of overkill but I not so much that it bothered me. I liked listening to him.

If you're not American it makes little sense

I just could not get into this book. In fact I gave up after the first few chapters. Maybe it is because as an Aussie the antics in the US right now really annoy and worry me, and I had hoped this book would throw some light on it for me but I was sadly disappointed. Would love to get my money back.

easy listen

I found the narrator read well but his voice is not super clear so difficult to listen to if there is other noise around, needed much louder volume than usual. the female narrator was good but perhaps an actor with an actual eastern European accent would be a better choice.
Story itself rolled along well and had enough intrigue to be interesting but very "Americans are the best and will save the world" and paternalistic towards other cultures. I could almost picture the movie with a American flag flying at the end.

I loved this book

I enjoyed the fast pace of this book. The narration was excellent. I particularly enjoyed hearing President Clintons narrative to conclude this audible book. I highly recommend you listen.

Interesting

The traitor was a bit obvious too early in the story but continued to try and point to an innocent one ... Politics in the states is definitely close to a blood sport and with current rubbish that has been going on under Trump this story brings home that this book is too close to the truth of it to be called a work of fiction but hopefully, it still is ... the final speech reminded me of a George M Cohan Broadway show waving a flag ...

good performances can't save a mediocre story

this book starts strong but trsils off before getting lost in its own mess. the assassin may be the sillest character written in a long time.

Boring

I’m a fan of James Patterson and normally love his book. This book however, was a big struggle. It is very slow and boring. Not recommended.
