For as long as Magnolia Steele can remember, the past has had its hooks in her. Her time as a Broadway actress in New York City was an escape that ended in public humiliation, but now that she's back home in Franklin, Tennessee, she's feeling the grip of the two incidents that stole her innocence. The first was the disappearance of her father when she was a teen, who left home for a meeting and never came back. There's evidence someone murdered him to keep him quiet, and she realizes that whatever conspiracy her father was mixed up in is far from over; it's entering its second act.

another excellent book
I absolutely love the banter between Magnolia and Colt. I laugh out loud so much as I listened to this book as an audiobook. In this book Magnolia is discoving what happened to her dad, and realising what a bad person her brother Roy is. I love all the mystery, it is so exciting. Magnolia starts finding out what happened to her dad and why. Ms Ava seems an interesting character, I'm eager to learn more her. And Magnolia's poor mother, I love how she is starting to open up until she thinks magnolia is meddling in things she shouldn't be. And lastly the mystery text person, it is so hard to work out should is, can't wait to find out more in the next book.

Even better.
I really enjoyed the narrator of this second book even better. So good, excellent story.
