Today, it is widely accepted that af Klint was one of the earliest abstract academic painters in Europe. But this is only part of her story. Not only was she a working female artist, she was also an avowed clairvoyant and mystic.

Shockingly dull
I was surprised by how boring this book was, and kept expecting it to get down to business but it never did. Be happy by managing your emotions, ok, and by valuing friends and family, finding good work, and having faith in god. Just be a middle class religious person and pray it all works out ok. I got drawn in by the Oprah branding, which is really just branding, and surprising given there is almost no acknowledgment of trauma, social complexity, or any real human hardship. Didn’t feel guided or inspired to put anything into practice in my life

Arthur and Oprah - Yin and Yang
This book is much more about science, curiosity and action than it is about drama and giving away cars.
The yin and yang between Arthur and Oprah is the gold here. As a 50+ blokey aussie bloke, I wouldn’t be drawn to a book by Oprah, but I’m glad I read this. From strength to strength by Arthur Brooks was my favourite book last year. This one is similar, but Oprah’s touch certainly softened the science. Loved it, read it in two days.

Happiness
I enjoyed listening to this very much. Simple and clear. Gives you a sense that you are already there rather than feeling like it’s going to be hard work. The big take away for me was, there is no end point to reach where you will be Happy. You can be happier or less happy. Love this !
