Beloved, God told Adam to have dominion, be fruitful, and multiply. He promised to bless Abraham for generations to come. Jesus came so that you might have abundant life. Do you see the pattern? God constantly tries to upgrade man’s existence. He wants us to thrive. But, sometimes, we get stuck “surviving”. We convince ourselves that the best way to handle an experience is to “just get through it”. For many of us, “getting through it” has become a way of life. Honestly, who can blame you? God doesn’t. Let me repeat that- God doesn’t blame you for deciding to just get through it. So much of life presents itself as a struggle and we are wired to go into survival mode.

But, Beloved, survival is meant to be a momentary victory. Once you survive, you are meant to thrive! God wants you to thrive in your life. Anything that tries to convince you to stay in survival mode is a distraction from the experience God wants you to have.
