Author profile Thomas Prünte, born in Unna / Westphalia in 1958, is a qualified psychologist, psychological psychotherapist and couples therapist. He has been working in his own practice for more than 30 years. www.thomas-pruente.de He developed the easy-to-learn method of the "focused self" (Das fokussierte Selbst) to support patients and therapists in grasping the essentials and keeping an eye on development goals In "You are my home port" (Du bist mein Heimathafen) he has put together suggestions for couples to "stay on course" in difficult "emotional waters". The "Crisis Management Box - You can do it" (Die Krisenbewältigungskiste - Du schaffst das!) was developed for people in difficult phases of life. We are vulnerable in a crisis. Patent recipes are out of the question. A sensitive accompaniment and a certain humility are usually experienced as more helpful. Encouraging key statements and questions invite you to search for clues for a way out. More detailed information in the booklet. In "How am I doing today - 44 possible and impossible ways to start a therapy session" (Wie geht es mir heute?) he gives concise and humorous insights into inspiring possibilities to make a therapy session goal-oriented and lively - for the benefit of the patient and to enliven one's own professional actions. "Short Stories", also interesting for patients. His credo "Feelings tell what is really going on" is vividly illustrated in "The Feeling Piano - The Correct Dealing with Our Emotions" (Das Gefühlsklavier - Vom stimmigen Umgang mit unseren Emotionen) using numerous case studies. He regards "negative" emotions as valuable signposts that point to neglected needs. With a wink he advertises that supposedly "bad" feelings should be included in the "emotional world cultural heritage" ("The sense of a bad mood - why it can be good to feel bad!") (Vom Sinn schlechter Laune). Together with communication scientist Jan-Rüdiger Vogler, he published "Show your eggs - male strengths in a partnership" (Eier zeigen!). It is her concern to support men in bringing their very own skills to bear in a relationship. And - last but not least - he knows how to familiarize the audience with psychological topics in a well-founded and entertaining way in his seminars and lectures. Thomas Prünte lives and works in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg. ps Many people are firmly convinced that they are the only ones, that experience existential hardship and unpleasant feelings. But their emotional world connects them more than they suspect with others! A good company should always convey a pinch of hope. The good feeling of not being alone in difficult times. Art, literature, spitituality and music can also be important comforters of the soul. The focus on the good inner forces, strengths and resources should be in the foreground. Since Thomas Prünte has been a songwriter in his "second life" since his youth, these experience reports stimulated him to write the song "Du schaffst das!" (You can do it!) He incorporated descriptions, images and glimmers of hope from those affected. It can be assumed that each of us knows at least some aspects from his own experience. The song wants to comfort and encourage. The Hamburg singer Johanna Hanf interpreted it sensitively. For couples he wrote "Du bist mein Heimathafen" (You are my home port), also covered by "Feli" - "Du buest mien Heimathaaben" You can find the songs on Spotify, Youtube and www.song-momente.de.
