Author, baking and celiac expert Jules Shepard is well-versed in all aspects of living gluten free. Diagnosed with celiac disease in the 1990s, she was unwilling to settle for rice-based recipes and products that were and are still so typical of "gluten-free" fare. She created an incredible does-everything gluten-free flour blend, and people started begging her to produce it commercially: today’s gfJules Flour. As the GF community burgeoned, so did the need for accurate information, advocacy and leadership. So, in addition to running her flour company and authoring, to date, three highly regarded books, Jules began speaking and teaching at GF consumer and trade events around the U.S. When the FDA failed to issue long-overdue GF food labeling regulations, Jules mobilized the community and built an 11-foot-tall GF cake -- the World's Tallest Gluten-Free Cake -- to pressure the FDA into action. Those regulations were soon issued. Jules continues her advocacy through her #1 rated GF Blog and social media where she can be found @gfJules.
