This Dark Town

Eighteen-year-old Lydia Stone wakes up one morning in the north London Gothic mansion she shares with her family, to find that her twin sister Kate has disappeared off the face of the earth. CCTV footage shows Kate entering a night club in south London on the night she went missing, but there is no evidence that she ever came out of the club, and the police are considering the idea that she was sex-trafficked.

Since their daughter Kate went missing five months ago, Brian and Barbara Stone have struggled to keep their heads above water. Their marriage is disintegrating, and it seems like Kate's twin Lydia is hiding something from them, too. With the help of psychic Ida Hegarty, Lydia is drawn closer to the truth about where her twin sister is. And it's much, much darker than anyone can imagine. 

The last time we saw Kate Stone, she was pregnant and deeply involved with the CFP church. Now, through her eyes, we start to see just how widespread and dangerous this group is and how convoluted and sophisticated their plans. Kate has to go to extreme lengths to stay alive and sane, and her strength and determination are challenged in unimaginable ways. Other kidnapping victims come out of the woodwork, and the detectives on Kate's case start to connect the dots. It is much, much bigger than anyone could have imagined, and far more sinister.
