After four long years in the army, causing international incidents and trying to eliminate Florida from the maps, Cynthia Sharp and her K-9 partner Sgt. Winnifred Pupperson have retired. Back home in Sweet Pea, OH, they are ready to kick back and relax. Except the damn chickens.

Sharp Investigations is open for business! Too bad the citizens of Sweet Pea, OH don’t know what business is. Tasked with haunted homes, lost bananas, and mysteriously disappearing dead people, Cynthia “Cyn” Sharp is chasing the empty caskets. With her sidekick, Sgt. Winnifred Pupperson, K-9, and a helpful homeless man, Cyn is going to solve the mystery, get the man, and hopefully keep a pair of shoes.

Someone has been murdered! No, really, an actual murder happened. Cyn and Winnie were perfectly content to read the news headlines like ordinary people...and dogs. Until the suspects started pouring into her office, demanding she prove it wasn't them. Which would be perfect, if the chief of police hadn't retired, Daniel Kirby wasn't a suspect, and the person demanding she help is none other than Amber Carter.
