Rise of the Alpha

I was lucky to escape my last pack with nothing but a few scars—a cheap price to pay for my freedom. It was supposed to be just another run to calm my wolf, but I wasn't going to ignore those cubs' screams for help—even if they were from a rival pack. What I didn't expect to find was a feral vampire, or the wolf who would change everything. The Alpha who caught me is like all the others-all raging temper and muscles. And yet . . . his pack is different than mine. But no matter how much my wolf cries 'mate', I need to break free.

I thought I'd die before returning to the Yosemite pack, yet here I am. It's just as brutal and terrifying as I remember. Nothing's changed. Well, except for one thing—me. I am done running. I will find a way to return to Derrick, and save as much of this pack as I can in the process. There's something brewing in the supernatural world, putting all shifters at risk. We need to find a way to set aside our differences and work together before we all perish.

I was happy. I had finally won—the past was behind me, my enemies dead, and my mate at my side as we jointly ruled our pack. Or so I thought. Being Alpha isn't easy, and bad blood lingers between our elders. Fights and distrust hover like unwanted pests, our pack a tinderbox set to explode with only a single spark. To make matters worse, loose ends with the vampires threaten our safety, and that last thing I want is more dead cubs. I'd kill every vampire in the west if that's what it would take, but it seems there's something bigger at play, pulling the strings for all supernaturals.
