Publisher's Summary

Ariana has been stuck inside a cage as long as she can remember.

From one master to the next, she hasn't known kindness since her parents were alive, and even then, she never belonged to herself. When a handsome werewolf saves her from the fighting pits, Ariana's life is turned upside down.

Thrown into a brand new world, Ariana discovers she's not only a wolf but the Silver Shifter, a being born every 100 years, and she's supposed to be the last. But her hot new alpha is hiding more than he's telling, including the alphas of the other New York packs.

Wolves. Dragons. Bears. Panthers. Each pack is holding back a secret from her, like why Ariana feels an unnatural pull to each.

Contains mature themes.

AMAZING

This is definitely just the start of a bigger story. I loved listening to this as an audiobook, with both the amazing narration and storyline. I listened to the sample of this book and knew that this was a series that I really wanted to listen to. The female protagonist (Ariana) was super kick-ass and definitely gave being a woman a great image, with her killer skills and take no shit attitude. If you have listened to the sample or just read the blurb and think you will like this book, I would definitely recommend this as a book to read or listen to. I hope you find you love this book just as much as I do. Enjoy!

Great story

I loved the story! The narration was easy to follow. The accents were a nice touch.

This was my first story by James & Bogle and I am hooked. FYI: it does end on a cliffhanger.

A Struggle to Finish

I struggled to finish this book. The main plot of the story was intriguing but I found that the main character of Arianna was not how I expected someone who grew up in confinement, in a cage to be. she knew modern terms, she new about wealth, cars and different types of food, which are all things, in my opinion, with a background like hers, she should not have known about. then in the book it is stated that she is a virgin, well add that plus the fact that lived in a cage as a wolf as a teen.......tell me then how can she have an understanding of the reproductive parts of both female and male anatomy? It should be all be a new experience for her. She should not just shrug her shoulders and go with it, I expected more questions of what is this, and more explanations of mates, but none of that happened and I found myself groaning throughout this book and struggling through it, I can guarantee I will not be finishing this series.

Cliffhangar

Interesting story line with two voices, which works well. It has a cliffhanger ending. Enjoyed it.

Loved the Narrators. Awful Book

For the first time I could not finish a book.. The book was awful and I should have listened to the one star reviews. for one I could not get behind the Male Leads. This girl (the female lead) has been caged all her life tormented and forced to fight and kill. and the first thing the Wolf Lead does when he has her in his home is Cage her.... He tells her no one will ever own her again. then through his own words and deeds tells her that he owns her and will cage her as he pleases. and she is okay with that... I would be running for the hills. going to live with one of the other guys in their territory. Even though the others aren't much better. The only Male lead I could slightly get behind was the Bear Shifter.

The other issue I had with the book is the Female lead. She didn't feel like a real person. She's been caged for most of her life never around the modern conveniences.. and yet nothing is new to her. Its like she lived with the modern Conveniences all her life. Which contradicts her whole Character.

Sorry not sorry but I am definitely not a fan of this book... But good job Narrators. Even though the Story was not good the Narrators still brought the book to life.

*sigh* And there was so much potential

There were so many interesting missteps with the storyline, delivery, and pacing I can barely keep track of it all.
Usually I wouldn't bother sharing my opinion but honestly I was misled by the reviews into listening to this novel.
The lead characters base personality changes so quick and so hard past her initial introduction persona in the most infuriatingly way. It's like she goes from being one person into being a completely different person all together with no rhyme but and obvious reason.
To make her more compliant and docile to fit the storyline she loses the roughness and strength that supposed years of slavery had bred into her.
The secondary persona introduced is annoyingly obtuse, toothless and plain. The number of times I was disgusted by the character was ridiculous, honestly I could barely make it through. The story wanted the narrative of, 'she is special and has a ordained destiny as the silver shifter to unite the clans' but the whole time it really felt like the story was just saying she had a magical vagina that's the cure all solution for all shifter clans and it's sad because this could have been so much more.... so many missteps to what could have been a really great story smh. Basic, frustrating, annoying, and unsatisfying story. Also I was very let do with line delivery and diction of all the narrators.

Just okay ...

This has a unique element of a power that comes once every hundred years. But it’s not known what kind of shifter she’ll be or what her power will manifest. But she will bring the separate shifter clans together. It’s both cool and typical that she’s dose that by taking the alpha male of each clan as a mate. Absorbing their animals and powers. So I liked the concept enough to listen to the first three books. But ... the relationships did not natural. Nor did Ari’s transition from a life of imprisonments and animal violence to freedom and love in human form. The entire story spread over the three books lacks a sense of fullness and history. The bear wolf dragon and panther clans attached to each alpha whom she is to untie are barely a part of story. More like honorable mentions. Same goes for the vamps and the witches. It’s a great premise but it wasn’t fleshed out or built up and it didn’t have a good backdrop or cast of supporting characters. I wish it had been might have been a good read or great read instead of just an okay one. The fourth book isn’t in audio yet and I don’t know if I’m feeling it enough to remember to look back for it in the future. The audio recording was done well sound and splicing wise but I am discovering I’m not a huge fan of Cendese. His tone is nice and deep but at times the affects he uses to make different characters grate on the ear. Neither audio talent was fully consistent either.

Terrible

one of the worst books I've read on audible. So bad I couldn't finish it.
