Publisher's Summary

The only way to escape is to die.

For 18 years I've suffered at the hands of the Hunters. For 18 years they've done their best to break me, to tear me open and unleash the terrifying monster that lives within.

Until the day they go too far.

When a desperate escape leads to another brush with death, I'm forced to place my trust in the hands of four formidable strangers. Wild and untamed, their feral natures call to me, their warrior hearts make mine come alive. And when they offer me a place to stay while I heal, I can't say no.

But the secrets I carry are deadly, and my past is a twisted, evil nightmare better left forgotten.

They may think they want to know me, they may think the secrets they guard behind hard eyes and closed expressions comes close to the ones I keep. But should they ever discover just who they've let into their home, just what I really am...their hatred could be the one thing that finally breaks me. And if I break, the darkness inside me will finally be free.

Contains mature themes.

Too long winded...

This woman is just bloody annoying! Non-stop whining and just frustrating. The male POVs were the only reason I kept listening. Stopped and took several breaks from this book. Too hard to listen to!

disappointed as I couldn't finish listening. It just got very boring. actually fell a sleep listening. I really liked the male characters in the story. I think that's why i got to charpter 38. I wanted to know more about them.

Amazing but...

I want to preface this review by saying that I did thoroughly enjoy this book. Even with the following complaints/issues, I highly recommend listening. Despite what I am about to write, this book was really good at getting to your feels and you truly understood where the characters were coming from... Well except for maybe Lucien because he's pretty much a jackass through the whole thing but you still KIND of get where he's coming from. It will be better when we learn more of his story, I think. That said, the book starts out really strong. Lots of action and your on the edge of your seat right up until she meets the guys. It shows down a bit, as you might expect because you need to introduce characters and relationships and everything... Then it stalls. It's just the same chapters written over and over again in circles. I kept waiting for a point when all would be revealed and they would finally FINALLY get cracking on making plans and...idk SOMETHING. However, I have 32mins left in the book and Hope hasn't even told them about her monster or what happened to her. It's basically twenty hours of the same thing over and over and two hours of actual plot momentum. But I did love it, even being frustrated. I felt sorry for Hope and I wish she would just tell them so they can fix things. I know a lot of reviews will complain that she is weak but she actually is a victim and her trauma is recent enough that I can't blame her for being timid. It makes sense. Between what happened before the compound and then what happened after, you can't really expect someone to be strong and too not internalize everything as their fault. Narrator's were awesome. I always love me some Aiden Snow. That sexy growly voice of his is the best.

Frustrating!!! Ridiculous even!

This was so stupid, I just finished listening to the book and I’m fuming. How can you write for 22hrs without anything happening? Without the book progressing even a little bit. I’m so pissed , I just wasted 22hrs of my time for nothing. Whatever happens in the first 2 chapters doesn’t progress till the end of the book. So basically reading the summary of the book is everything that happens for 22hrs. Don’t even waste your time reading this book, just wait for the second book and start right there. I JUST CAN’T BELIEVE THIS, WHO DOES THAT? When choosing the book I thought ‘’well it is 22hrs so for sure they will get somewhere in the book before we will have to wait for the second one but no. I want my money back No I’m getting my money back for this book. That will teach you a lesson for teasing people because I don’t know what this is, if not ridiculous.

I’m taking a break...

I had to, take a break that is and listen to something else. The narrator is talented sure but I had to speed it up two levels because it is slow and...ok honestly I think it was the FMC narration that turned me off of Hope. I just didn’t really like her after awhile. Let me explain, don’t get me wrong I completely understand the trauma and the fear and the crazy “it’s my fault” mentality and you really could not say that this was not realistic, but here is my problem...this is a fantasy book. I get realistic human behaviors but do I want to listen to the crazy for 21 hours on repeat. Nothing changed, she was damaged and contradicting the whole time and it’s not necessarily “entertaining” when you have to listen to the realistic thoughts and feelings of a thoroughly damaged girl for 21 hours. It would have been nice if the Author maybe did a “2 or 3 months later” thing so that we would be able to see some healing. Also it was sooo wildly frustrating how one of the guys just couldn’t control himself. No matter the fact that he was aware of her trauma and cared SO much for the FMC but I guess not enough to stop snapping, raging, and needing to run off just because of some “look” or “thought” it just was sooo NOT attractive. As far as my issues with the FMC, well like I said with her abuse, I completely get her fears and stuff. But at the same time she is apparently strong enough to get through such morbid abuse, but she it build absolutely no strength in her. What happened to that determination to survive or make it through? It’s like I don’t believe that she was tortured IN THE WAY she shortly explains (in her head). Also...why didn’t she just ask the guys to help her get to her uncle since that was her plan...her excuse was that she didn’t know if her uncle would help her...but she also didn’t know the guys that she met and on top of that, didn’t want to bring trouble for the guys...yet she stayed and continued to beat herself up over putting them in danger, but also freaked out and stopped thinking about the “trouble” she was putting them in if she thought they were kicking her out. Also it’s stupid to be like...I don’t want to get them hurt, but also don’t want to get them a chance to protect themselves by telling the truth. I’m not saying I hated the book...but I definitely finished two other books in between listening to this book because I just couldn’t sit in the unchanging, stagnate, non eventful, environment for that long. Lastly seriously there is like no magic. They talk about a monster but I’ve no idea what it does, what it is, why the compound wanted it...it comes to a point where being in the dark is just annoying or not getting answers after listening for 21 hours! The internal monologues dragged the “beep” on!!! I mean I’m listening thinking...man it must be awkward standing and staring at someone for that long while they are waiting for you to respond. lol She also describes the men, like every time she sees them. I dont understand why or how she described their appearances so much.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

I read this book several months ago and fell in love. I was SO EXCITED when I heard it was being released on audio but also a bit worried about the possible narrators. Narrator choices are always important with RH due to the amount of central characters and the need to establish each characters voice and personality. I can say that my worry was for NOTHING because they knocked it out of the park!! Aiden Snow is probably one of my new favorites because that voice is down right sexy. This is book one of the trilogy and most of the time is spent with the characters getting to know each other and establishing their relationship. There isn't a whole lot of action but I'm sure that will be in the next two books. Hope is a great character. I will never say she is weak and it bothers me when others do. She has been through so much but it still able to recognize love and happiness and see the good in others. She is strong emotionally and mentally. I'm sure the physical strength will come along soon and it will be epic!

The story doesn’t progress

The girl doesn’t communicate her fears which is almost understandable and the guys are the opposite of what an abused person should be exposed to. How she doesn’t put her monster together with them being Lucas is beyond me. It seemed like a very long story with no movement. The narrator was excellent.

Wonderful narration to a fan favorite

I have read Hunted over and over so many times since its debut that I have lost count of exactly how many times I have read it, and this narration by Isabelle Ruther and Aiden Snow was very well executed. Hunted is the tale of Hope, a woman who has recently escaped an 18 year long captivity for having a "monster" inside of her. She escapes, but ends up being sheltered by a pack of Lycans who help nurse her back to health. Erica Woods weaves a detailed and emotional slow build romance between Hope and the new males in her life as they struggle with secrets, their heart wrenching pasts, and the ever looming Hunters. The narrators, Aiden and Isabelle, do a wonderful job bringing these characters to life with an array of accents and intensity mixed in. This book narration is perfect for those looking for character depth, a few secrets thrown in, and an appreciation for romantic development.

so very good

having already purchased an ebook copy of Hunted, I was excited to hear about the audio copy. also scared. the voices chosen though are amazing. I could hardly put the audio down just like the ebook copy. I was held tight in it's grasp from start to finish. the characters are so well developed, the storyline intricate without being confusing. a good read and a good listen

This Book is Just AMAZING!

..... Wow. I love Hunted and these narrators ARE AMAZING!!! OK so as for the story itself - you know how they say a good story, good characters, good writing, speak to your soul? This story. It's not grating the way some abused characters are portrayed, Hope as a character is an abused, manipulated empath, but one who isn't helpless, isn't broken yet, and she hasn't given up. This story, Hope's thoughts and emotions, just reaches deep down into me and resonates everywhere at once. This author writes trauma and grief and guilt SO well, and the reaction I get is absolutely visceral. I've never experienced it in a fictional story before and it's absolutely amazing. I cannot wait to continue reading and to not only see but to feel what Hope feels as she (hopefully!?) heals and grows. Thank you for bringing these favorites to life!

Amazing I need book 2

For 18 years Hope as suffered in the hands of the evil hunters trying to get her to show her monster within which she has buried and detached herself from. When the chance to escape comes she takes it and ends up being saved by 4 guys who she feels drawn too. I love her interactions with Ruarc and Jason even though Ruarc is very dominant and feels women should do as he says I don’t see him as the type to hurt her and Jason is the joker in pack but most is to hide his feelings towards her. Ash is very in control of himself and you warm up to him instantly and Lucien just makes you want to punch him but towards the end you will begin to warm up to him . I loved the dual narration and I am eagerly awaiting book 2 .

Excellent

Captivating story ,really well written, and performed. Cant wait for the rest of the series. Only issue is the Scottish accent... I thought the character was meant to be Russian to start with, wasn't until 'Scots brogue' was mentioned that I realised it wasn't. May be because I'm from that part of the world though 😂

Good book but Not GREAT

the overall book was great but the middle was like all about her being depressed and all that always been scared starting herself like I don't want to sit up at 21 hours so I can have a let down when all comes through was only like when the last hour that are feeling more confident I know just not my thing so yeah but if you like that thing then this is your book
