The plant plague has evolved into the Black Blight. The death toll from starvation is unknown. Separated by their struggles to live as peasants, Iro and Sebastian go on their own journeys to self-discovery.

Iro's journey continues to traverse the realms. Aos takes Iro to the Above to partake in a divine ritual. It isn't Aos she's worried about, but the other gods in the Above. Fenroh, King of the Gods, has hidden himself away, and the Goddess of the Hunt is hostile in her presence. But there is something else bothering her, a little mystery in her mind. A name she doesn't recognize keeps popping up in conversation too many times for it to be a coincidence.

The journey ends here. Iro and the pantheon find themselves thrust into a divine competition set by the malevolent Creator for the throne in the celestial realm. In this climactic showdown between divinity and destiny, malignant forces weave their way around shadowed corners and, unexpectedly, in the most brilliantly illuminated spaces.
