Obsidian Order Series

As long as I can keep my supernatural origins hidden, my life is simple. It's just my best friend and me against the world, eating dried ramen and peas, watching reality TV, and laying low in the city that never sleeps. That is until Draven, a dangerously attractive hunter, tracks me down and kidnaps me. He's with the Obsidian Order, and he gives me a choice: join their ranks or die. All I have to do is pass a series of deadly trials at their Academy, competing against a bunch of supernaturals who want me dead. Sounds easy, right?  

I survived the Obsidian Order's first series of trials. I stopped a madman from putting a massive crater in the middle of NYC. Good job, Seline, but that was only the beginning. As I take on my silver trials, friends become competition, competitors turn ruthless, and I still can't touch my magic without it nearly killing me every time I do. If I don't win these trials I'll get left behind, and I've been promised that won't be good for me. If that weren't enough, the infuriatingly sexy Draven asks me to accompany him on a mission to retrieve an item of incredible magical power.

The Obsidian Order is tough, they have to be if they want to turn prospects into elite agents. I want to be one of those agents, and right now I'm closer than ever to achieving that goal. Hunting Valoel down is my primary goal. The word on the street is he's recruiting mages to fight for his cause. I'm not sure what his cause is, but I know it's not good. Draven would have us just kill him outright and be done with it, but Valoel said he was my brother. Maybe he can tell me about my past? My parents?

Valoel, my half brother, is on the hunt, only this time he doesn't want to recruit me - he wants to straight up murder me. I don't have a choice. I have to kill him first. Before I can do that, I need to find the fifth stone. Without it, my chances of beating him are slashed. The only problem is, I have no idea where to start looking for it. With only a few options and very little time to figure out which is the best one, I'm going to have to count on the one person I'd rather not see again in my life to make this work.
