Most people run from disasters, but for people like Jake it's your job to get to one as fast as you can. As a prepper he does not want to take the risk; as an emergency manager it's his duty. And this time he is not so sure he wants to perform his duty, whether it's his job or not. A major global pandemic is going on and a major hurricane has just hit the Gulf Coast.

A major global pandemic is going on and a major hurricane has just hit the Gulf Coast. To make matters worse, the government is forcing the evacuees back to the storm stricken cities or placing them in isolation and quarantine. His chances of helping others or becoming a casualty himself have just taken a turn for the worse as the U.S. declares martial law for a storm ravaged coast.

How could this post apocalyptic tale of driving to a disaster get any worse? After a mega hurricane impact and an existing major pandemic threatens the Gulf States, it looks like it will shut humanity down in the good old U.S.A.. The author adds the impending doom of governmental martial law imposed, societal collapse based on economic and food riots and the hero is not home yet as an oil spill makes its presence known.
