Publisher's Summary

Western civilization has had its run.

The West's own governments are giving up, have already lost, or are leading the charge to something else. This doesn't sit well with those who believe in liberty. This is the story of a people who have lost the political fight, they've lost the culture wars, they haven't seen a level playing field in a generation, and they are about to be made serfs. None of that matters. They're leaving....

Fresh starts are never easy. This is the first book in a story about a new world, different enemies, and old luggage.

Author's note: We've all consumed sci-fi or speculative fiction where the dystopian backdrop is some form of fascism - usually portrayed as conservatism run amok. This is not that kind of book. The backdrop of this book is a socialist and corporate statist disaster on a global scale. It is basically fascism arising from the left. I had to give the protagonists a reason to do what they do.... As such there are numerous disturbing scenes within, portraying everything from socialized medicine, five-year economic plans and government-enforced serfdom. If you think any of that sounds like a panacea for the future, you will not like this book.

The debut novel from a former CIA operations officer who has decided that his lifelong writing habit/hobby/obsession is more fun than "real" work.

Interesting Take on Dystopian (socialist) Future

This was a unique story in that the politically conservative groups of the world surrender to the fact the leftists and their ideology have won over the world and are now consolidating their hold over all the worlds nations. In order to escape, a parallel world(s) has been discovered, devoid of human life and provides hope for a new future, if they can escape the government and their own embedded leftists who want to continue some of the horrible ideology they left behind. Overall - this was an interesting story that left out the deep scientific and technical knowledge behind the theories of parallel universes. It also lightly covers some of the deeper political and economic issues behind socialism and crony capitalism that we see happening in America today. I guess, I was hoping for more action and was disappointed when there weren't more action scenes and only realizing at the end of the book, that this was all a set-up for subsequent novels. I guess this was more drama and political thriller than sci-fi/military - which I was hoping for based on the cover art. I would ONLY recommend this book for conservative readers as the author's feelings towards leftist ideology is made very clear throughout.

Absolutely Amazing

This book is an instant favorite for me. The attention to detail and background knowledge the author weaves into a story that parallels some of the issues we face in the real world today made for an enrapturing listen.

A different perspective

I’m just sad it’s not for real. I’d be off this planet in a heartbeat.

Sign me up let's go

No spoilers so not much to say other than some reviews say the politics are to slanted to the right but I disagree it is more libertarian, as it says in the book all peoples are welcome along for the ride. It is fun escapism especially with all the negative in the world right now the story grips you it is really good. The narrator Marc Vietor is fantastic he is in my top 5 favorite narrators.

Easily the Best I've read in a while!

Nice to find some truth in Fiction. Some of the best Science Fiction makes a commentary on current events by showing what effect those events could have on the future. I CAN'T WAIT for the 2nd and 3rd books to come out on Audible. I'm buying them the day they release!

Nice read

The world slips into the NWO but there’s a place for the ‘good’ to escape. Once you get into it, you can’t put it down.

Outstanding. sci-fi meets SHTF.

Being a tech nerd and fan of prepper/collapse genre, this was quite a fun listen. Racing to populate a libertarian Noah's Arc during a collectivist transformation of the US, this story had all the elements to keep me listening lost past getting out of car (my typical audiobook venue).

Right wing anti government crap fest

I have read a bunch of end of the world types of books. This one started out good. After a little while you start to realize that the only point of this book is for the author to talk trash on the left non-conservative point of view. He goes on and on and on about how capitalism is the best way for everybody. There is so many things that I liked about this book but it just got ruined after chapter after chapter of talking about how great it is for capitalism and how communist type thinking ruin the world. I mean I get what he was trying to say but he could’ve just set it up at the beginning and left it and got into the New World he he was trying to build. It was just a continuous right wing propaganda BS book. He tries to paint a picture that the world US government gets its self in the problems by having all these programs for people and I get what he’s trying to say but it’s just it’s so far from real real life and in anyway it’s just got so annoying. He really could’ve done the first four chapters going over what the first 25 chapters cover. Don’t waste your time With this book. The whole thing is just right wing conservative propaganda.
