First published by Noble Press in 1992, then reprinted and revised by Lantern in 2005 and 2012, this 30th anniversary edition is revised, expanded, newly typeset, updated, and has a new foreword. It’s the story of Valerie, a 23-year-old police officer in Montgomery County, Maryland, whose world is turned upside down when she learns about the abuses of animals in laboratories.

Mary has sent Donald a cryptic note that leaves Donald frantic. He hires the highly recommended detective, Peter Clancy, to help him find Mary.

Writing this novel in 1923, H. G. Wells called it a “scientific fantasy.” He featured a utopia located in a parallel universe.

Diverging Roads, set sometime between 1912 and 1919, is one of Lane’s earliest published novels (1919). It is somewhat autobiographical and depicts the life of Helen Davies. We meet Helen when she is about to graduate from high school and is in love with a fellow student, Paul. Both of their families are struggling financially. Paul must support his widowed mother; he begins work immediately—and over the course of the novel proves to be a good, hard-working man whose greatest ambition is to provide for his loved ones, Helen included.
