If you have not read anything about the Baudelaire orphans, then before you read even one more sentence, you should know this: Violet, Klaus, and Sunny are kindhearted and quick-witted, but their lives, I am sorry to say, are filled with bad luck and misery. All of the stories about these three children are unhappy and wretched, and this one may be the worst of them all.

Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire are intelligent children. They are charming, and resourceful, and have pleasant facial features. Unfortunately, they are exceptionally unlucky. In the first two books alone, the three youngsters encounter a greedy and repulsive villain, itchy clothing, a disastrous fire, a plot to steal their fortune, a lumpy bed, a deadly serpent, a large brass reading lamp, a long knife, and a terrible odor.

Unless you are a slug, a sea anemone, or mildew, you probably prefer not to be damp. You might also prefer not to listen to this audiobook, in which the Baudelaire siblings descend into the depths of despair, underwater. The horrors they encounter are too numerous to list, and include mushrooms, a mechanical monster, a distressing message from a lost friend, and tap dancing.

Nobody in their right minds would listen to this particular book about the lives of Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire on purpose, because each dismal moment of their stay at the village of V.F.D. has been faithfully and dreadfully recorded on this program.

This audio is the only one which describes every last detail of the Baudelaire children's miserable stay at Heimlich Hospital, which makes it one of the most dreadful audios in the world.

Like handshakes or housepets, many things are preferable when not slippery. Unfortunately, in this miserable volume, I am afraid that Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire run into more than their fair share of slipperiness during their harrowing journey up, and down, a range of strange and distressing mountains.

I hope, for your sake, that you have not chosen to listen to this recording because you are in the mood for a pleasant experience. If this is the case, I advise you to put down this audio instantaneously, because of all the audios describing the unhappy lives of the Baudelaire orphans, The Miserable Mill might be the unhappiest yet.

Like the previous books in A Series of Unfortunate Events, there is nothing to be heard here but misery, despair, and discomfort, and you still have time to choose something else to listen to.

Regardless of how they pass their time while at a hotel, the three siblings will be sure to take in all the interesting sights and sounds, and write them down, just in case this episode turns out to be the darkest yet in a series of unfortunate events.

The word "carnivorous", which appears in the title of this book, means "meat-eating", and once you have read such a bloodthirsty word, there is no reason to read any further. This carnivorous volume contains such a distressing story that consuming any of its contents would be far more stomach-turning than even the most imbalanced meal.

If you are looking for a story about cheerful youngsters spending a jolly time at boarding school, look elsewhere. Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire are intelligent and resourceful children, and you might expect that they would do very well at school. Don't.

The end of the end is the best place to begin the end, because if you listen to the end from the beginning of the beginning of the end to the end of the end of the end, you will arrive at the end of the end of your rope.

This is a story about a lump of coal who can think, talk, and move itself around. Is there a more charming holiday tale to behold? Probably, but Lemony Snicket has not written one.

La série culte ! Dans ce pénultième épisode, Violette, Klaus et Prunille Baudelaire aboutissent, à un curieux hôtel nommé « Dénouement ». Dans deux jours aura lieu un grand rendez-vous VDC, et ils sont chargés par la mystérieuse Kit Snicket, de se déguiser en groom pour espionner les agissements suspects des hôtes, ennemis ou membre de VDC.

La série culte ! Sortis du coffre de la voiture du comte Olaf (fin du tome 8), Violette, Klaus et Prunille se retrouvent à l'entrée d'un parc forain. Là, règne Madame Lulu, voyante de son état, que le comte Olaf est venu consulter. Malgré leur angoisse, les enfants décident de rester ; il leur faut découvrir si l'un de leurs parents est bien encore en vie. Déguisés en monstres de foire, ils se font engager par Madame Lulu.

La série culte ! Nous les avions quittés sur un radeau emporté par un torrent en crue, nous les quitterons cette fois sur la plage embrumée de Malamer, en une sorte d'étrange retour à la case départ...Entre les deux, tout se passe au fond des mers. Recueillis à bord d'un petit sous-marin boîte à sardines, commandé par un capitaine Virelevent aussi jovial que soupe-au-lait, nos orphelins vont découvrir qu'il n'y a décidément jamais de réponse sûre à la question : "Ami ou ennemi ?".

La série culte ! Nous retrouvons dans ce tome 10 des "Désastreuses aventures" Violette et Klaus Baudelaire dans le pétrin où les avait laissés le tome 9, et Prunille n'est pas mieux lotie, emportée vers les cimes dans l'auto noire du sinistre comte Olaf, sur les genoux de la sinistre Esmé, en compagnie de leurs sinistres comparses... Rappelons que l'expédition vers les monts Mainmorte a pour but de retrouver le dernier QG des VDC, mystérieuse société secrète à laquelle semblent avoir appartenu les parents Baudelaire.
