Convicted of a minor traffic violation, Rev Pelletier is conscripted into the Perseus Union Marine Corps...for up to a 30-year term of service. The war has only just begun. While rescuing a world from Centaur control, the Marines discover that not all humans on the planet are slaves. The Children of Angels believe their masters have been sent by the gods to lift up mankind. Humanity now has two enemies, one from the farthest reaches of the Galaxy and the other from within.

After getting sent to oversee a batch of fresh conscripts, Pax makes the fateful decision to sacrifice his life to save his subordinates. When humanity joins the cause, the war with the Naxli begins to tilt in the favor of the allied races. The Naxli have other ideas, though, and they launch a full-out blitz against the upstart humans. If they succeed, humanity’s very existence is at stake.

Forged into human weapons to defend humanity against impossible odds, Sergeant Major Reverent Pelletier and the rest of the IBHU Marines and other hyper-augments are discarded by those they fought to protect.

The Centaurs may no longer pose a threat, but a new war is on the horizon, though it hides in the shadows of two empires. Rumors of alien tech have set governments against each other, and with attention focused on defeating the Centaurs, criminal elements have gotten their tentacles firmly entrenched in the very fabric of civilization.

The enemy Naxli keep advancing, taking humans prisoner and destroying human worlds. But this isn’t the Naxli’s first rodeo, and humanity is not alone. Other races have suffered at the hands of the enemy, and they’ve proposed that humanity join them and present a united front to defeat the Naxli once and for all.

Pax becomes a team leader as the Marines are developing new tactics, but the Tucanans aren't standing still, either. And they seem to have targeted the Undead. High on their list of priorities is to figure out what makes the Undead so dangerous, and they'll go to any length to get their foot-arms on a few of them. Pax has to ensure their military mission is accomplished while blocking the Tucanans from taking Undead prisoners to face a fate worse than death—even multiple deaths.

Staff Sergeant Reverent Pelletier has been attached to the Congress of Humanity’s Home Guard, tasked with keeping the home system safe. Old rivalries and new enemies threaten the alliance, despite the counsel general’s mission to ensure humanity doesn’t fall into their old ways of conflict and war.

The end of the Undead could be upon us. The Undead continue to take the fight to the Tucanan invaders, but it’s difficult to achieve such notable success without attracting attention. Rumors continue to surface about clones and zombies, sparking protests. Irrefutable proof surfaces that at least one of the Undead was previously declared KIA and buried with honors, and then an insider goes public, sparking uproar and calls for official investigation.

This is a new kind of war. The MDS and allies have withdrawn from the CoH, and they now want to become the center of gravity for humankind. The goal is to obtain localized wins, draw in more allies, and achieve victory, no matter the cost. With the alliance undone, Rev must fight a seemingly unwinnable war. But marines never quit. With humanity joining the alliance to fight the Naxli invaders, the war should be turning in their favor. Unfortunately, the enemy must not have gotten that memo. Across the galaxy, the Naxli strive for total domination. To create a stronger resistance, Gunny Pelletier is sent to work with the various races, but he and his team soon discover that reaching common ground and coordinating military action is far more difficult than they’d imagined.

Corporal Aiden Kaas is just like any other marine - except for the minor matter that he is a werewolf, one unsanctioned by the Lycan Council. Factions of the Council want him exterminated as a threat to the Tribe, and the military has tracked him down and wants to use him as a super-warrior, something that the Council cannot accept. When Colonel Jack Tarnition infects himself with Aiden’s blood to become a werewolf in his own right, things start spiraling out of control.

Rev is a Marine, born and bred to fight and survive, to defend those who cannot defend themselves. But one way or another, his journey is coming to an end.
