Die Leiche einer jungen Frau wird an der Flanke vom Arthur’s Seat, Edinburghs Hausberg, gefunden. Schnell stellt sich ihr Tod als Giftmord heraus. Dann stirbt die Leiterin einer Wohltätigkeitsorganisation - auch sie wurde vergiftet. War derselbe Täter am Werk? DI Callanach und DCI Turner begeben sich auf die Jagd. Eine Jagd, die keinen Fehltritt duldet und eine schwere Entscheidung fordert: Sind sie bereit, für die Ergreifung des Mörders die eigenen Regeln zu brechen?
