A school trip to Florence seems like the perfect escape for Lucy. She wants time away from Tony who is pressuring her to take their relationship further. Izzy fik meget godt at spise på turen til Firenze, men nu er hun hjemme igen, og det er IKKE jeansene, der er krøbet i vask, men hende, der har taget et par kilo på. Hun føler sig pludselig ALT for tyk. Hun mister sin selvtillid og har svært ved at se de gode ting, der faktisk også sker for hende. Mon veninderne kan hjælpe hende ud af krisen?

Nesta forstiller sig velgørenhedsarbejde vil give hende en god chance for at møde nye mennesker (dvs. fyre med kærestepotentiale!). Men efterhånden som hendes øjne åbnes for denne verdens problemer, bliver hendes ønsker om at hjælpe mere oprigtige og mindre udspekuleret egoistiske.

Skoleturen til Firenze kommer som sendt fra himlen til Lucy. Hun har brug for lidt tid væk fra sin kæreste Tony, som efterhånden ikke synes, det er nok bare at kysse. Han presser på for at komme tættere på hende, end hun har lyst til lige nu.

Izzie er rastløs - og meget ivrig efter at blive behandlet som en voksen. Så hun beslutter, at det er på tide med nogle drastiske forandringer. Men den nye udgave af Izzie medfører nye problemer. For det første er der Josh Harper, en ældre, ret cute, men vild fyr. For det andet er der hendes mor, som er modstander af alt, hvad der har med "den nye Izzie" at gøre. Og så er der den aften hjemme hos Nesta, hvor Izzie går i gang med at lave cocktails ...

Lucy føler sig helt udenfor! Hun er bare den eneste, der ikke har en kæreste, og efter, at hun har besluttet sig for at give Tony en kølig skulder, har han fundet sig en anden ... Så tager hun på 'spa-weekend' med Izzie og møder en fyr, der lige er noget for hende; og hendes følelser bliver åbenbart gengældt. Men efter et stykke tid begynder Lucy at føle sig over-elsket. Daniels opmærksomhed er næsten for meget af det gode. Måske er det alligevel slet ikke så skidt at være single.
