Incoerenze, ingenuità, colpi di scena improbabili e sopra le righe, fino al surrealismo, che, però, fanno venire il dubbio (più che giustificato, se confrontato con le altre opere dello scrittore) che Wallace stesso abbia voluto ironizzare sullo stereotipo della donna “bellissima e spietata”. Ma soprattutto, dietro queste pagine, c’è tutta Hollywood, per cui Wallace ha scritto molte sceneggiature.
