Traveling by night, Zak Nine and Erro are following a shadowy figure until the mysterious stranger disappears into a cave. The boys decide to follow. Inside they find a maze filled with priceless gems, along with a rough band of escaped criminals. Things go from bad to worse when a squad of Alcatraz guards arrives on the scene.

An extremely evil book marked with an X has unleashed a swarm of X-winged insects, and the bugs are on the hunt for their favorite food—books! When the hungry horde targets a bookmobile and the humans inside, can the expert Librarian force the deadly pests to exit? Or will they turn him into an ex-librarian?

Zak Nine has been captured and placed in Planet Alcatraz's "Monster Zoo." But this isn't any ordinary zoo. This zoo holds dozens of alien "monsters" who are forced to fight for the entertainment of the prison planet's owners.

A dangerous book is missing from the Library of Doom. The book has no words, except for one single sentence. Whoever reads it disappears. Forever. When the book appears in a classroom on the first day of school, it will be up to the Librarian to close this new chapter of fear.

During their last adventure, Zak Nine and Erro found a mapping device in a crashed Prison ship. Following the map, the boys make their way to the Plateau of Leng, a vast desert on Planet Alcatraz. Other than an occasional giant scorpion, the boys seem to be safe on the endless sands until they spring a deadly trap! Huge rocky walls spring up from beneath the sand, grinding against each other and forming into walls, passageways, and stone cages.

Zak Nine and Erro have escaped! But now they find themselves lost in a vast forest of alien birds and deadly plants. Things grow even worse when they hear strange buzzing sounds just above the treetops attack drones! The prison guards are searching for the boys using a flock of remote bots, armed with flame-throwers and sleeping gas! Will the boys outwit the bots and find a way off Planet Alcatraz?

Zak Nine and his friend Erro are on the run! While avoiding a band of patrolling prison guards, the boys meet another escapee who tells them the legend of an abandoned spacecraft. The boys believe that if they can find the ancient ship, they'll be able to fix it and blast off from the Planet Alcatraz. But first, they must cross the Igneous Quag an uncharted swamp full of flame-spitting snakes and hidden geysers of fatal fire!

After a recent daring escape attempt, Zak Nine and his Quom friend Erro are imprisoned in the most inescapable region of Alcatraz. The boys are locked in separate cages, hovering at the end of unbreakable chains over a boiling sea of poison. How will the boys escape their latest dilemma? Even if they break out of their cells, how will they travel across the venomous waters to safety? It's the most perilous adventure yet as the boys try to escape from Planet Alcatraz.

Young Quom Erro and his human friend Zak Nine are in trouble. They're stuck in Planet Alcatraz's most infamous jail cell: a huge metal cylinder that's sunk into the ground, but open to the sky. The boys are certain they can climb out, but they quickly discover the cunning secret of the pit. When they make too many movements, the floor sinks, and the pit grows even deeper. Will the boys manage to climb out, or will their hopes dwindle as the circle of sky overhead shrinks to a distant dot?
