Louise explains why she has set out to challenge the UK’s foster system. Van Ness was born in Quincy, Illinois, and has been openly gay throughout his life. In 2013, Van Ness was dressing the hair of a friend, Erin Gibson, who asked him to recap his webcast, Gay of Thrones, on her show, Funny or Die. From this, his Gay of Thrones series garnered more attention, and in 2018, it was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series.

Joining us at Audible Studios is James Acaster, one of the UK's finest stand-up comedians, who has his own Netflix special, a podcast with Ed Gamble and a TV show with Josh Widdicombe. Acaster has written and recently released his second book, Perfect Sound Whatever. We spoke to James about his iPod guy, whether or not therapy was useful to him and the sheer joy he gets from recommending music.

Joining us at Audible Studios is the actor of one of the most familiar droids known to man and aliens alike: Anthony Daniels, best known for his role as C-3PO in Star Wars. Daniels dropped out of law school to pursue amateur dramatics and spent time working at BBC Radio and the National Theatre. His agent recommended he go visit George Lucas, who was casting for Star Wars. Daniels wasn't interested in the role but was persuaded to go along. It was a meeting that changed the course of his life.

Epic fantasy writer and New York Times best seller Brandon Sanderson joined us in the Audible Studios to discuss Oathbringer, the third book in his Stormlight Archive, and he revealed his process for getting his books just right. Brandon also spoke about how others can sometimes discover that they're writing in the wrong genre and told us about the books he has unpublished.

Joining us at the Audible Studios is veterinary surgeon and presenter Noel Fitzpatrick. Perhaps better known as the Supervet, he has now penned an autobiography - Listening to the Animals: Becoming the Supervet. He speaks to us about his memoir, which shows his journey to becoming the Supervet from the very beginning. We see every twist and turn on his route to Surrey and opening his world-renowned veterinary practice, his extremely successful television show, The Supervet, and the personal experiences that come alongside working with sick and injured animals.

After beginning a career in psychiatric nursing, Jo Brand moved to the alternative comedy stand-up scene with early performances on Saturday Live and later appearing in the likes of The Brain Drain and Jo Brand Through the Cakehole. Brand is the author of four novels and is currently the presenter of The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, and her latest book, Born Lippy, was published in October 2018.

Saad grew up for the first few years of her life in Wales and now lives in Qatar in the Middle East, with her husband and two children. Saad's main motivation in life is to become a 'good ancestor'. This personal mission has influenced the writing of Me and White Supremacy, and Saad hosts a Good Ancestor podcast, in which she interviews guests from a wide range of personal and professional backgrounds.

Cummins worked in the publishing industry for 10 years before becoming a full-time writer. Her first book, A Rip in Heaven, is a memoir about her two cousins being murdered and the attempted murder of her brother. Cummins used the book to deal with her grief and portrays the lives of the victims and their families. She went on to release two fictions novels. Her newest release is American Dirt, a novel which looks at the plight of migrants, as a mother and son desperately attempt to escape a cartel in Mexico by fleeing to the United States of America.

Ty Franck and Daniel Abraham both live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where they met through mutual friends and began writing and gaming together. Having already built the world of The Expanse for a game (it was initially created for an MMORPG pitch), the pair set out on a task to bring the world to life through fiction. Their first novel, Leviathon Wakes, was published in 2011 and was nominated for the 2012 Hugo Boss Award for Best Novel and the 2012 Locus Award for Best Science Fiction Novel.

Joining us at Audible Studios is television presenter, author and teaching fellow Emma Dabiri, who has published her first book, Don't Touch My Hair. This book is all about why black hair matters and how it can be seen as a map of decolonisation. Dabiri takes us through the significant times, from pre-colonial Africa through the Harlem Renaissnace and Black Power and on to today's Natural Hair Movement.

Jason Isaacs joins us in the Audible Studios to discuss narrating The Island of Dr Moreau by H. G. Wells. Playing the iconic role of Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films as well as Dr. Hunter Aloysius 'Hap' Percy in The OA and being part of the Star Trek franchise, he is a prolific and renowned actor. In this interview, Jason tells us about narrating The Island of Dr Moreau, what his kids think of this work, and the casting director who thought his hands were more interesting than his acting talent.

Prof Steve Peters visits Audible to discuss his latest book, The Silent Guides, which draws on what we learnt from his best seller The Chimp Paradox.
