After Tempara successfully saved three of her Greater Temporal Fox family members from the clutches of a dangerous temporal ritual located in the Frozen Reaches, the Fox-turned-Dungeon Core travels south to an entirely different Wildlands region in hopes of freeing even more of her family. While it was treacherous in the cold, northern region where she called home, the new region is unlike anything she has ever encountered before.

After recovering from the effects of a Core shard taking over her mind, Sandra had developed a way to bond with nearby Dungeon Cores, “pacifying” them in the process. Consistent culling of the Monsters within their dungeons would still be required, but no longer would the surrounding areas be dangerous with wandering Monsters sent out by those Cores. Accomplishing all of that will inevitably lead to a greater responsibility that Sandra wouldn’t be able to handle on her own. Fortunately, the surrounding races are more than willing to step up.

Continuing her journey to save her family, a strange secret awaits Tempara in the Verdant Forest...along with the souls of six family members and two former Defenders. The Greater Temporal Fox-turned-Dungeon Core moves on to another Wildlands region in her efforts to stop a temporal ritual from destroying the world while saving the rest of her captured family in the process. This third region, the Verdant Forest, is a land of tall trees, wild beasts, and dungeons that are unique in the fact that they are tied to the very nature of the environment.

Marstin Hardgrove was orphaned at a young age, forced to live on the streets, and needed to turn to thievery to survive. When a job goes wrong and the young man was caught, he was forced to eat a handful of dirt and rocks before being abandoned to die; unbeknownst to Marstin, he also ended up swallowing a tiny dungeon crystal.

Coming back to their own dimension, Milton Frederick and his AI guide, ALANNA, discovered that things were not quite how they left it. After the Station Core and his crew of Proctans acquired a derelict space station, fixed it up to include a makeshift dungeon, and then stopped the Heliothropes from invading and conquering an entirely new dimension, they managed to survive and return to Milton’s home dimension victorious.

The Heliothropes have opened up another dimensional wound, and now it’s up to Milton and his crew to locate the Stabilizing Anchor holding the wound open and destroy it before the connection between two dimensions stabilizes completely. It should be fairly easy, as they had done the same thing on Sandra’s planet, but there’s a problem.

After the synergy explosion that destroyed her Core, the dungeon fairy-turned-dungeon core needs to rebuild everything from the ground up. Even after pre-ordering the pod that would allow them to play "Glendaria Awakens", Krista and Devin still had to wait months before they were able to experience the newest in VRMMORPG (virtual reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game) technology. The wait was definitely worth it as they entered into a game world that was virtually indistinguishable from real life - apart from the obvious game elements of course. After starting in a typical starting town, they learned everything they needed to survive in this new world.
