Auru denkt, dass Yann sich einen Scherz erlaubt und einen Trick angewandt hat. Aber Yann und Timeti wollen hinter das Geheimnis kommen.

Onkel Patrick muss für ein paar Tage verreisen, und so zieht Auru mit seiner Familie in die Galeone, damit Yann und Marina nicht allein bleiben müssen. Sehr zum Missfallen von Yann. Am nächsten Morgen können sie alle ihren Augen kaum trauen. Das Meer vor Maotou ist tiefrot. Alle verdächtigen den armen Zoom, etwas mit dem Phänomen zu tun zu haben.

Das ganze Dorf bereitet sich auf die großen jährlichen Wettkämpfe vor, als Yann einen verletzten Oktopus findet und nach Hause bringt. Marina kümmert sich liebevoll um das Tier. Dabei bemerkt sie bald, dass der Oktopus hellseherische Fähigkeiten hat. Er kann den Ausgang eines jeden Wettkampfs vorhersagen. Für sie ist das ein Spaß, aber Jack beginnt es für sich nutzen.
