Der foregår noget mærkeligt! Lille Hopsas ører bliver til gulerødder, Æslet bliver til en gris og Ulven til en ballon – det er heksen Fnise-Lise, der er på spil. Under skoltiden fick till exempel hans dåliga betyg ett ordentligt ansiktslyft innan de presenterades för föräldrarna. Några oråd anades aldrig, så varför inte utnyttja sin talang till fullo? När Benson använder sina färdigheter till att i smyg skapa kaos på en speditionsfirma dröjer det inte länge innan han får chefens ögon på sig.

Den amerikanske diplomaten Henry Linton hittas mördad i en bil utanför sin bostad. Utredningen delegeras till Svensk Film & PR Produktion - täckmantel för en av det svenska inrikesdepartementets allra hemligaste avdelningar. När den skicklige förfalskaren Benson får i uppdrag att gå igenom Lintons tillhörigheter identifierar han genast ett falskt finskt pass. Det visar sig att Linton nyligen använt passet vid en resa till Riga. Har besöket något med hans död att göra? Benson skickas till Riga för att försöka följa diplomatens spår.
