There can be no doubt that the essence of Islamic civilization is Islam; or that the essence of Islam is tawhid, the act of affirming Allah to be the One, absolute, transcendent Creator, Lord and Master of all that is. These two fundamental premises are self-evident. They have never been in doubt by those belonging to this civilization or participating in it. Only in recent times have missionaries, Orientalists, and other interpreters of Islam subjected these premises to doubt.

Sache que tout ce qu’Allah a introduit en l’humain a pour but de lui être bénéfique. Ainsi, certains désirs peuvent l’aider à attirer ce qui lui est profitable. C’est le cas du désir pour la nourriture par exemple. D’autres l’aident à repousser ce qui pourrait lui porter préjudice, comme la capacité à se mettre en colère notamment. Ceci étant dit, quand le désir de la nourriture devient excessif, il se transforme en gourmandise nocive. De même, la colère, quand elle n’est pas maîtrisée, devient nuisible.
