Maximilian I. (1459-1519) ist „Held Theuerdank“. Die Geschichte - in frühneuhochdeutscher Sprache - handelt von einer stark allegorisierten Form menschlichen Verhaltens. Theuerdank wird von „drei Erzlastern“ in allerlei Gefahren und Hinterhalte gelockt. Die Hauptmänner „Fürwittig (Übermut), Unfallo (Vermessenheit) und Neidelhart (Neid)“, schützen die „drei Pässe“, durch die Theuerdank reisen muss, um zu Königin Ehrenreich zu gelangen.

Paradise Lost is an epic poem in blank verse by the 17th-century English poet John Milton (1608–1674). A second edition followed in 1674, arranged into twelve books (in the manner of Virgil's Aeneid) with minor revisions throughout.
