As a Black woman, managing chronic illness and disabilities can present unique challenges that may not be fully understood or addressed in the healthcare system. The intersection of race and gender in healthcare for Black women often leads to disparities in access to quality care, leading to negative health outcomes. Black women face stereotypes and biases in healthcare that can impact the way their symptoms are perceived and treated. In order to address the continued silencing of Black women in healthcare, it is essential to implement strategies that empower and uplift this marginalized group.
