"Summer Camp" is one of Papi Chulo RADIO's signature series. "Auf der Straße... nach Mendocino". Am Anfang, in Amerika 1968, war Mendocino eine Hippiehymne: Der Tex-Mex-Amerikaner Doug Sahm träumt vom Drogenrausch und freier Liebe am Strand ("blow your mind in the morning"). 1969 wurde das ein Top-30 Hit. In Deutschland wurde daraus erst einmal Schlagerseligkeit: "Ich sah ihre Lippen, ich sah ihre Augen" - Michael Holms Fassung von "Mendocino" wurde die meistverkaufte Platte im Summer of Love.
