About this listen

The patent podcast for companies, especially for SME, developers and managers/decision makers. Patent language (gibberish!) is incomprehensible and you don’t have a clue? I am a German patent assessor and European Patent Attorney and I am sharing my knowledge about patents in an understandable and entertaining way. Without suit and tie, without complicated phrases and without many paragraphs. For a relaxed work with patents. Also check out my website www.simply-patent.com, connect with me on LinkedIn and Instagram at @patenttraining. Feel free to send suggestions and feedback to mail(at)einfach-patent.de. This helps me to get better :-) P.S.: ”einfach patent” is my German patent podcast! P.P.S.: My native language is not English ;-)Copyright 2022 All rights reserved. Economics

  • E6 - Unitary Patent part 2 - practical part
    Oct 26 2022

This episode is the second part on the unitary patent. In the first part I explained the theory (episode 3). This episode builds on it and is the more practical side.

    - What does the introduction of the new system mean for you and your patents? - What questions can you ask yourself now? - What do you even have to do to get a unitary patent? - Is the unitary patent worth the cost for you? - What impact will the new system have on your existing European patents and what can you do now if you want to minimize the impact?

As is so often the case, it is also here a matter of looking at each individual case. For each constellation of patents/patent strategies, how to deal with the new system may be completely different. This episode is intended to help you find your own way of dealing with it.

NEWS: In the meantime it was announced that the Unitary Patent System will start in April 2023. This means that the sunrise period will be from the beginning of January until the end of March 2023.

I hope you enjoyed this episode!
