About this listen

It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed Tyler's Ace Race, waiting on Connor McDavid, and much more.

We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about an under-the-radar player that everyone is excited to watch this coming season. From Stuart Skinner rebounding to Trent Frederic playing healthy as an Oiler for the first time to Adam Henrique having a better offensive season, there are plenty of players on the roster the boys are excited to watch. Needless to say, the squad is hopeful about what the current roster will be able to do in 2025-26.

Looking at the limited news that happened this past week, the guys discussed a new goaltending rumour that suggested Edmonton could be interested in one of Detroit's many goaltenders. We also discussed recent speculation from John Shannon that suggested Connor McDavid's contract extension could come in cheaper than some folks expect. Talking about McDavid's extension led the boys to wonder when No. 97's name will end up on a contract, and Baggedmilk has a horrible feeling it's going to come through when everyone is on the golf course for the Oilersnation Open.

Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week. With just over two months left until the start of the 2025-26 season, the guys spent the bulk of the Friday episode talking about an array of topics that were Oilers-related or not at all, but that’s what happens in August.
