Professor Dr. Wilhelm Schmid lebt als freier Philosophin Berlin. Viele Jahre lehrte er Philosophie als a.o. Professor an der Universität Erfurt. Zusätzlich war er tätig als Gastdozent in Lettland und Georgien, sowie als philosophischer Seelsorger an einem Krankenhaus in der Schweiz.
2012 wurde ihm der deutsche Meckatzer- Philosophie-Preis für besondere Verdienste bei der Vermittlung von Philosophie verliehen. 2013 der schweizerische Egnér-Preis für sein Werk zur Lebenskunst.
Aufgenommen im Rahmen der Reihe „Wissen fürs Leben“ in der AK in Feldkirch. Dieser Podcast begleitet die Sendung "Focus", ORF Radio Vorarlberg am 12.04.2025.
