About this listen

In this first official episode of Beyond the Coil, I’m sharing an empowering insight from a recent coaching session that explores how our minds cling to familiar beliefs, even when they no longer serve us. Many of us carry deep-rooted stories of self-doubt that feel safe simply because they’re familiar, reinforced by our survival instincts and life experiences.

Today, we’ll dig into why these thought patterns are so persistent and explore how recognizing and reframing them can create space for self-empowerment and growth. I’ll touch on the science of neuroplasticity and polyvagal theory, showing how our brains are wired to return to “safe” thoughts, even when they limit us.

Note: I recorded today’s episode as a voice memo into my phone, fully NOT expecting it to turn into a podcast episode (much less the inspiration for a new season!) You can expect future episodes to be more curated, with salient protocols, and of course, better quality audio. See the actual first episode as the example: Election Season Stress? How to Self-Regulate with Polyvagal Techniques
