About this listen

Dave discusses the vital importance of prayer in the health of our spiritual life, marriage, and family (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

He also explores the differences between Veterans Day and Memorial Day, emphasizing the importance of prayer for our military personnel. He explains the three steps of prayer used in the weekly prayer meetings at The Harbor Church (thanksgiving, confession, petition).

He read General George Patton's "weather prayer" and the miracle that occurred as a result of that prayer. He also read Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth's prayer in the Pentagon, which began a monthly prayer meeting in that building.

He discussed some of the kings of Judah and Israel in the Old Testament (Kings and Chronicles) and the negative consequences their people faced because they did not turn to God in prayer. Let's not get too big in our minds and not pray and seek God's wisdom. Let's pray and give thanks to our Lord every day in everything.
