Spring is in full bloom here in Waynesville, and our community calendar is blossoming with activities! The third annual Best Sapper competition just wrapped up in our city park, bringing together military excellence and community spirit in a spectacular showcase. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Trey and the Parks Department team whose dedication made this event possible.

Families will be thrilled to hear that the Little Heroes Playground has reopened with amazing new flooring that was absolutely worth the wait. As we transition into summer, mark your calendars for Kids to Park Day on June 7th and Freedom Fest on May 10th, where our historic downtown square will come alive with food, games, and activities for everyone. The Best Warrior competition returns on May 30th, continuing our proud partnership with Fort Leonard Wood.

For those interested in joining our team, Waynesville is currently hiring for several positions including Parks Laborer, Police Officer, and Street Department Foreman. These roles offer excellent opportunities to grow your career while serving our vibrant community. And yes, the rumors are true—Domino's is indeed coming to Waynesville this year! While McDonald's undergoes its exciting renovation to better serve our residents, remember to support our many wonderful local restaurants.

Safety remains our priority as the school year comes to an end, so please buckle up, put those phones down while driving, and watch for children playing in our neighborhoods. Stay connected with all our news and updates by downloading the City of Waynesville app, available now on Android and iOS. Together, we're making Waynesville an even more wonderful place to live, work, and thrive. See you around town!
