Der Inhaber des Karl-Jaspers-Lehrstuhls für Philosophische Grundlagen der Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie an der Universität Heidelberg, Thomas Fuchs, veröffentlichte 2023 ein Fachbuch, in dem eine umfassende natur- und geisteswissenschaftliche Neubewertung in der Behandlung psychisch kranker vorgeschlagen wird: "Psychiatrie als Beziehungsmedizin".
