FELINE OSTEOARTHRITIS ESSENTIALS –WHAT DO VETERINARY PROFESSIONALS NEED TO KNOW?

This episode is absolutely jam-packed with the latest bang-up-to-date information on feline osteoarthritis from one of the world’s leading experts, and the head of ISFM, Dr Nathalie Dowgray. It was truly inspiring to discuss how far the field of feline OA has come over recent years.

Nathalie outlines some of the unique features and challenges of OA in this species, helping us to navigate our way through the relevant literature and new innovations. We discussed ageing and the morbidities that accompany this process.

Using her own cat as an example Nathalie takes us through some of the recent additions to our feline OA pharmaceutical inventory. We go into detail on NSAIDs, especially in the face of comorbidities, and long-term safe administration of this category of medicines.

With infectious enthusiasm and great optimism, Nathalie inspires us all to improve our practice of feline OA diagnosis, management, and care provision.

From all of us at VOA thank you Nathalie for being a terrific guest on our Podcast.
